NOTE The title 420 golpes [420 Blows] alludes to various motifs, the most important – ignoring for the moment Truffaut's “400 Blows” - : all the poems were written in 420 characters - “golpes” [“blows”, but also “keystrokes”], as used in typing; this was the maximum length permitted on the social network Facebook, though it has since been increased. As well as being an exercise in space and the possibility of its limits, it is a reflection on calendar time: a Book of Hours. Time and space measured out, imposed, which free themselves through the imagination. Proof of freedom within the margins: freedom on parole.
